Woman Accused In Attack On Pregnant Woman To Request Venue Change

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - The woman accused of attacking a pregnant woman and removing her unborn baby has requested a change of venue for her trial.

Dynel Lane is accused of brutally attacking Michelle Wilkins and cutting out her unborn baby in March.

Lane's attorney filed the motion on Monday to move her February trial out of Boulder.

Arguments will be heard by the judge at the motions hearing on Tuesday, Dec. 1.

The case has received national attention and the victim, Wilkins, appeared on the Dr. Phil show in September.

As reported by the Boulder Camera, an attorney for Lane told Boulder District Judge Maria Berkenkotter that about 400 people were wanted in the jury pool due to the amount of press the crime has received.
