Firefighting teams do water and slurry drops on Burnett Gulch Fire in Larimer County

Voluntary evacuations have been ordered in Larimer County for a 3.4-acre wildfire that's being called the Burnett Gulch Fire. It is for people who live on Lonestar Road and Stagecoach Trail. 

The U.S. Forest Service wrote in a post on social media on Monday morning that the fire is burning north of Lyons and that firefighting crews "are making progress on a handline around the fire."

Late Monday morning, aerial firefighting crews were doing water drops and slurry drops on the fire.

The voluntary evacuation order was put into place after daybreak. It means people who live in the area should get essential items ready and be prepared to leave.
