Jefferson County Wildfire 100 Percent Contained

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- A small wildfire burned in the foothills east of Evergreen on Thursday afternoon. Fire crews were able to get it 100 percent contained in just a little more than an hour.

The so-called Cold Springs Fire broke out near Kittredge in the area near Corwina Park along Highway 74. It burned 2.6 acres.

Fire crews were concerned about the blaze spreading because of strong winds.

Eight firefighting agencies with 45 firefighters responded because the fire was burning in steep terrain.

One helicopter made water drops on the fire.

More than 300 homes and businesses received level one evacuation notices which indicates a pre-evacuation status. No structures were threatened.
