Visitors Descend On Salida For Music Festival 'Love This Small Town'

SALIDA, Colo. (CBS4)- Thousands of people have descended on a small town in Colorado's mountains to enjoy a music festival this weekend. The people who call Salida home are welcoming those guests.

"It is a little town. We are rocking it," said one visitor.

The two-day music festival, with headliners Mumford & Sons, is underway as the town's population has literally quadrupled.

"Love this small town, everything is antique, very local. It's one of my favorites," said visitor Jennifer Montano. "We called six months ago when we heard they were coming to Salida, we were like, 'Sold.'"

For local business owners the chance to host thousands of music fans is a dream come true because busy streets equal dollar signs.

"Salida has boomed as an art town and we love seeing all the people coming to town to enjoy the music. It's really great," said local art gallery owner Stephen Samzel.

Even more people are expecte to arrive Saturday for headliner Mumford & Sons. The band helped pick Salida as the location for the music festival. They said it was just the right type of town for what they wanted.
