TrueCar Inc. Resuming Business In Colorado

DENVER (AP) - The car-pricing tracking company TrueCar Inc. is resuming business in Colorado.

TrueCar suspended business in the state in January after Colorado regulators raised concerns about the business potentially violating advertising and licensing rules for motor vehicle dealers. TrueCar says it worked with state regulators to resolve the issues.

The company says its business helps both car buyers and dealers. It compiles anonymous pricing data from car sales to offer information on what a buyer can reasonably expect to pay for particular vehicles. It says the information it provides is only market information, not a dealer's specific pricing. It says it's not advertising on behalf of dealers either.

It has signed up Colorado dealers to participate with TrueCar under a subscription-based billing model.
