Tipton Disputes Radio Ads Calling Him 'Sneaky'

DENVER (AP) -- A lawyer for Republican Rep. Scott Tipton says radio stations in western Colorado removed ads calling Tipton "sneaky" and implying that he broke ethics rules.

The Democratic group behind the ads says they were scheduled to expire anyway and weren't taken down because they were misleading.

The ads in question mention Tipton's nephew, who owns a telecommunications company that contracts with a firm used by Tipton and many other members of Congress. The ad says, "That's sneaky, Scott."

The ads came from House Majority PAC, a Democratic political committee.
