People Evacuated After Grandfather, Child Bring Home Possible Explosive

WOODLAND PARK, Colo. (CBS4) - Homes were evacuated when a child and his grandfather brought a possible explosive home.

A bomb unit in Teller County was called out and destroyed what they thought to be a live mortar round.

The two found the device near Lake George.

It was safely destroyed and no one was hurt.

Deputies say that the device was actually a detonator used by the U.S. military.
