Swetsville Zoo Founder's Son Dies In Crash Near Ault
AULT, Colo. (CBS4) - The son of the founder of the Swetsville Zoo on Fort Collins has died in a car crash.
The crash happened Friday on Highway 14 near Ault in Weld County. The Colorado State Patrol says a car crossed the median to pass a turning car and crashed into the truck carrying 49-year-old Donald Swets.
Donald Swets inherited the collection of giant metal sculptures from his father, James William Swets.
Swets was wearing his seatbelt and the State Patrol believes drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
