Suspected Shoplifter Pepper Sprays Walmart Employee
WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4)- A shoplifting suspect was arrested after he allegedly sprayed a Walmart employee with pepper spray.
Police were called to the Walmart store at 200 136th Avenue about 10:30 a.m. Saturday on reports of an assault.
Before officers arrived, an adult male shoplifting suspect was confronted by loss prevention officers and became combative. During the physical altercation the suspect sprayed the officers with pepper spray.
The officers were treated by firefighters at the scene and released. The suspected shoplifter was taken into custody. He is expected to be charged with robbery due to the assault and use of the pepper spray during the shoplifting incident.
