Suspected Drunk Driver Bumps Officer With His Car
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - An Aurora police officer is recovering after being hit by a suspected drunk driver.
The crime happened at The Rock, a restaurant on East Smoky Hill Road.
Police say Lucas Pekas, 23, left the restaurant drunk and hit a car in the parking lot.
An off-duty officer tried to stop him. That's when police say Pekas struck the officer with his car.
The officer hit his head and ended up with a broken wrist.
Pekas is charged with assault, DUI and damage to property.
