Broncos, Boys & Girls Clubs, Food Bank Of The Rockies Team Up To Feed Kids
DENVER (CBS4) - More than 100 kids in Colorado got a free meal on Tuesday thanks to the organizations like the Denver Broncos and Boys and Girls Clubs.
They teamed up with the Food Bank of the Rockies to supply the kids with meals during the summer at 70 different locations across Colorado. Officials say a lot of the kids qualify for free lunches at school but some go without during the summer.
Miles the Mascot of the Broncos helped kick off the summer meal program in Denver.
"Only about five percent of the kids in Colorado who qualify for these lunches are receiving them," said Janie Gianotsos, Director of Marketing for the Food Bank of the Rockies.
