Student, Teacher Honored For Assisting Student Suffering Seizure
DENVER (CBS4) - A fifth grade student was honored Monday for assisting another student having a seizure at Lowry Elementary in Denver.
Brianne Diggs-Thomas, a fifth-grade student at Lowry Elementary School in Denver, and her teacher, Tony Lindsay, were recognized for coming to the aid of a student who was suffering from a seizure.
"By acting in a calm and courageous way, Diggs-Thomas gently guided the student to the floor, helping him avoid injury. Lindsay then administered first-aid procedures," The Daniels Fund said in a statement.
The teacher and student were presented with Bill Daniels Neighborhood Hero Awards.
"Their actions demonstrate the importance of helping others in times of need," the statement said.
