Steamboat Ski Resort Expands Skiable Area, Adds New Gondola
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- Steamboat Ski Resort is expanding. The resort inked a deal with its parent company Alterra to add on 650 acres.
The project includes a major overhaul of its base with a new gondola, new learn-to-ski area, new restaurants and plaza. The ski resort will upgrade its technology and also expand its skiable area by 20%. That will make it the second-largest resort in Colorado.
The project is estimated at $135 million. Work will begin this week.
