Some Black Forest Residents Who Lost Their Homes Can No Longer Camp

BLACK FOREST, Colo. (CBS4) - Some people who lost their homes in the Black Forest Fire will have to find another place to stay while they rebuild.

El Paso County officials say the residents can no longer live in campers or RVs on their own property.

Campers were allowed temporarily after the fire so residents could clean up and rebuild. But some complained about the mess in the community and that neighbors were taking advantage of the situation.

County commissioners will still let people live on site if they can show progress on their rebuild.

The fire in 2013 destroyed nearly 500 homes. About 40 are still under construction.
