DENVER (CBS4) - Commuters will be happy to know that crews are almost finished with repairs on Sheridan Boulevard near 4th.

Officials said they hoped to have the street open by 2 p.m.

Denver Water had to fix a 12 inch water main pipe that burst, creating a massive sinkhole in the street early Monday morning.

After filling the hole crews had to pour several layers of asphalt.

Once the final layer cools and the stripes are repainted the street will reopen.
