Sheriff's Office Says Road Rage Not A Factor In Bike Accident
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — The Boulder County Sheriff's Office says there will be no charges against the driver of a truck involved in an accident with bicycle triathlete Richie Cunningham earlier this month because investigators have determined that the driver stopped to avoid another car and not because of road rage.
Cunningham told authorities that the driver, Shepherd Wolf, was acting out of anger when he stopped his truck and the bicycle ran into it. Cunningham had injuries to his back and shoulder.
The sheriff's office said in an announcement on Monday that Wolf told investigators he was trying to avoid hitting a car in front of him as he came down a hill and there is no evidence a crime was committed.
