Several Hospitalized After Multi-Vehicle Crash At Colfax & Speer

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - Denver police are trying to determine exactly what happened after a multi-vehicle crash in downtown Denver Tuesday morning.

Witnesses said the driver of a van caused the accident after running a red light at the intersection of Colfax Avenue and Speer Boulevard.

"Out of the corner of my eye I saw the driver of the van cross the median into head-on traffic and he hit the red car; it was in the middle of the intersection going straight," witness Jennifer Patze said.

The family in the red car, including a young child, was taken to the hospital for observation.

The driver of the van also went to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The intersection was closed for approximately 3 hours for the investigation.
