Sen. Bennet's Brother Suspected Of DUI In Aspen
ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - The editor-in-chief of The Atlantic magazine and brother of U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet is due in traffic court he was arrested in Aspen on suspicion of driving under the influence.
A police report says 45-year-old James Bennet was arrested July 2. The Aspen Daily News reports he was in town helping to orchestrate the annual Aspen Ideas Festival, which his magazine co-founded.
James Bennet declined to comment to the newspaper Thursday.
Police say his vehicle had its high-beam headlights on when it was pulled over. Bennet allegedly said he was unfamiliar with the car because it was a rental and that he had had one drink that night.
Bennet was released to a sober party. He is due in traffic court Aug. 23.
