Denver donors dress to the nines for Rev the Runway fundraiser

National Jewish Health is a world-renowned leader in research and treatment of respiratory, cardiac, and immune diseases. On Nov. 2, it will be holding its annual fundraiser Rev the Runway. The Cohen Family is chairing the event.

"Something unique about National Jewish that I don't think a lot of people know, they have what's called the Morgridge Academy which is a K-8 program for patients who are there. Kids who can still attend school while they're getting treatment," Dan Cohen said.

Last year, National Jewish Health provided nearly $44 million in charity and subsidized care to patients from across the country. Fundraisers like Rev the Runway helped to pay for that care.

"There's actually a lot of patients that go there that can't afford their own treatment. There's also a lot of patients that don't have health care, so the money that we're raising for this event goes to help those patients," said Max Cohen.

Rev the Runway is held at Mercedes-Benz of Denver, so there are luxury vehicles, as well as a high-end fashion show.

"There's a fashion show that's put on by our good friends at Neiman Marcus. They've got all the top European brands. We'll get a good look at what the fashion trends are going to be coming into next year," Dan Cohen explained.

In addition to cars and fashion, there is dancing, hand-crafted cocktails, gourmet appetizers, and decadent desserts. There are also awards for the attendees for the outfits they're wearing.

"There is actually an after-party this year. We're going to have a DJ. Bird Call is providing food for that. We're hoping that everyone who's in their fabulous outfits will stay, continue to dance, and so we're really looking forward to that too," Max Cohen added.
