President Obama Kicks Off 2-Day Campaign In Colorado
DENVER (CBS4)- President Barack Obama was on his way to Colorado Wednesday morning for a two day campaign in the state.
The president will speak at the Auraria Event Center in Denver at about 1:15 p.m. He's expected to present his plan to restore the middle class in America.
He will also discuss his vision to create more jobs and grow the economy by focusing on education and energy.
Obama will likely discuss taxes and his controversial call to Congress to prevent tax increases on the middle class and instead tax those living in a higher income bracket.
"Governor Romney's plan would effectively raise taxes on middle class families with two children by an average of $2,000. To pay for the tax cut, not to reduce the deficit. Not to invest in things that would grow our economy like education, roads or basic research. He'd ask the middle class to pay more in taxes so that he could give another $250,000 tax cut to people making more than $3 million a year. It's like Robin Hood in reverse. It's Romney Hood," said Obama at a recent campaign stop.
Obama will then head to Grand Junction for another grassroots event on Wednesday evening.
The president is scheduled to attend more rallies on Thursday with stops in Colorado Springs and Pueblo.
