DENVER (CBS4) - If you see smoke Saturday between Silverthorne and Glenwood Springs it's most likely coming from prescribed burns in Eagle County. Two burns are planned inside the White River National Forest.
The burns will help improve wildlife habitat and reduce fuels for forest fires. The White River National Forest is the most visited in the nation with 2.3 million acres that is home to 11 ski resorts, 2,500 trails, eight Wilderness areas and 10 mountains that are over 14,000 feet tall.
