Police Search For Suspects In Double Stabbing In Evans

EVANS, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Evans would like the public's help locating a suspect or suspects involved in a stabbing that happened early Sunday.

Police said they responded to a call about a shooting in the 3000 block of Denver Street just before 2 a.m. When they arrived they found a 17-year old man and a 17-year old woman suffering from stab wounds.

Police have not released their identities but said they are both residents of Greeley.

"Information gathered by officers indicates that a large group of people were present when the incident happened but fled as officers arrived. There were no obvious signs that a shooting had taken place," Pat Haugse with Evans police said in a statement.

The Evans/Greeley Gang Unit were controlling the investigation.

The woman was treated for minor wounds and released at the scene. The man was taken to the North Colorado Medical Center. Officials said he is expected to make a full recovery.
