Police In Denver Investigate Child Burned While In Car Seat
DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver are investigating a child who was apparently burned while strapped into a car seat that was placed on top of a stove.
Denver firefighters rushed to a fire in the 5000 block of Elkhart Street on Thursday afternoon.
When they arrived they called for police to assist after finding a child burned at the home.
Police investigators learned that the child had been burned after being placed on top of a stove while in a car seat. That chair ignited a short time later and burned the child.
Police believe the person responsible for watching the child was attending to another child when the fire happened.
The burned child was rushed to the Children's Hospital for treatment. Those watching the child were interviewed by police detectives.
The relationship between the child and the person watching the child is unknown. Police have not stated whether any charges will be filed.
