Police ID Suspects In Armed Robbery That Resulted In Death
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) - Aurora police have released the identity of two men who they say entered a cigarette store in the 9000 block of East Colfax and attempted to rob the store.
"Investigators believe both suspects were armed when they entered the business. Shots were fired by at least one of these males," Sgt. Cassidee Carlson said in a prepared statement.
Carlson said an employee returned fire, striking both of the suspects. One of the suspects, Quinten Barnes, also known as Quinten Sauls, 25, collapsed outside the business and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Tyrel Walker, 19, was shot and was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle.
"The driver was questioned by detectives and released," Carlson said.
Walker was released from the hospital Tuesday and taken into custody. He's being held on $100,000 bond on attempted first-degree murder and aggravated robbery.
