Pilot Survives Plane Crash At Centennial Airport

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A plane crashed moments after taking off from Centennial Airport Saturday evening.

The plane hit the ground near County Line Road and Potomac, just east of the airport. Nobody on the ground was hurt. The plane has major front-end damage.

South Metro Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and said the pilot had trouble after takeoff.

"He was taking off … and didn't get enough altitude and then went through the fence and crashed on the street," Becky O'Guin with South Metro Fire and Rescue said.

The plane is registered as a 1963 Beech Bonanza. The pilot was flying solo. He survived the crash and was taken to the hospital. His condition has not been released.
