Moody: 'Peter And The Starcatcher' At BDT Stage Is 'Clever And Thrilling'

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - The BDT Stage formerly known as the Boulder Dinner Theatre is best known for its musicals, but now there's a step in a new and very creative direction. Critic at Large Greg Moody reviewed "Peter and the Starcatcher," a Tony Award winning Broadway comedy.

Moody says "Peter and the Starcatcher" is an unusual choice for the BDT Stage.

"It's not a musical as such, but a play with some music thrown in," Moody said. "Then again it's not unusual at all as it is a big charming ensemble piece that makes use of the great comic talents that roam the stage at Boulder's Dinner Theatre."

The Tony Award winning play by Rick Elice is a prequel to "Peter Pan" setting up how all the magic came to be and how all the characters came to inhabit Neverland.

"Rich and fun, clever and thrilling, 'Peter and the Starcatcher' is treat that is filled with comic invention and theatrical magic that captures your heart," Moody said. "Let the story in and let the characters grow on you and you won't be disappointed."

It runs through May 14. Visit bdtstage.com for more information and to purchase tickets.
