Person Of Interest Sought In Adams County Homicide
ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Sheriff's deputies in Adams County are looking for a 25-year-old man who they are calling a person of interest in a weekend murder case.
A woman who has not been identified was found dead in a car at 52nd and Pecos just before 6 a.m. on Sunday. Police said she was slumped over in the driver's seat and had been shot.
Several neighbors say they heard rapid gunshots between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. and that soon afterwards there was a heavy police presence in the area.
Zach Rucero, who works at Lucero & Son's Restaurant next to where the vehicle was found, told CBS4 there was a red Ford SUV in the parking lot with the driver's window shot out.
Officials said Miguel Angel Gonzales is now wanted for questioning in the case. They described him as being 6 feet tall, weighing 215 pounds and having numerous tattoos on his arms. They said he is probably driving a maroon 1994 Mercury sedan with oversized wheels and the Colorado license plate 005WTZ.
"I don't know how you can shoot somebody and go on with your life knowing that you killed somebody," Rucero said.
