People Inside Home Fight Off Suspects Armed With Bats
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - A Fort Collins resident was hurt on Monday night when police say they and others inside their home fought off three men armed with baseball bats who broke in.
The incident happened on the 800 block of West Laurel Street just before 9 p.m.
Four people were inside the home at the time and were able to disarm and restrain one of the attackers until police arrived. Two other suspects ran away and police say they caught one of them -- Spencer Crocker, 18 -- soon afterwards.
That third suspect remains at large. He was described as being just over 6 feet tall and was wearing a mask and a red hoodie.
The resident who was hurt was treated at the hospital for minor injuries. The suspect who was restrained by the residents -- Dillon Cosgrove, 21 -- also sustained minor injuries and police arrested him after he was released from the hospital.
There's no word yet on why the suspects tried to break into the home.
The two suspects who were arrested were being held at the Larimer County Jail and tentatively face aggravated robbery, burglary and theft charges.
