Parked Van Plunges Into Sinkhole In Northeast Denver

DENVER (CBS4) - A van that was parked near the intersection of Oneida and 36th plunged into the water when a sinkhole formed underneath it on Friday morning.

Officials turned off water service for approximately 20 homes after the sinkhole formed.

Authorities said the van had been parked there for a long time.

When a CBS4 crew arrived at the scene crews were attempting to drag the mostly submerged van out of the water.

So far there's no word on how long it will take to fix the sinkhole.

Oneida Street has been closed between 35th and 36th.

The eight-inch pipe that burst was installed in 1951.
