Obama Approves New U.S. Troops In Syria

HANNOVER, Germany (CBS4) - President Barack Obama announced on Monday that more American troops will be on the ground in Syria.

There will now be approximately six times as many U.S. personnel working to dislodge ISIS there. Approximately 250 troops will be deployed. They will help advise local forces in Syria doing battle with ISIS.

"We're not going to be leading the fight on the ground, but they will be essential," Obama said.
