Northern Colorado Tops Southern Utah 77-67

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) — Dominique Lee scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Tevin Svihovec added 14 with nine rebounds and Northern Colorado beat Southern Utah 77-67 on Thursday night.

Jordan Wilson had four assists and three steals for the Bears (13-14, 8-8 Big Sky Conference), who dominated from the start and led by as many as 19.

James McGee hit a 3 for Southern Utah's only lead, then the Bears ripped runs of 13-3 and 19-4 to lead 41-27 at halftime.

The Thunderbirds rallied in the second half, pulling to within 64-59 on a layup by A.J. Hess with 5:03 left, but the Bears used a 9-2 run in which Svihovec scored eight points to pull ahead 73-61 with 1:07 left.

The Bears outrebounded the Thunderbirds 41-25, including 11-2 offensive boards, and outshot them 51.9 percent to 45.6 percent.

Tyler Rawson led Southern Utah (8-18, 5-10) with 11 points, Casey Oliverson added 10 and McGee had four assists.
