'No Socks To Work Day' Encourages Clothing Donation To Homeless
DENVER (CBS4)- Wednesday is "No Socks To Work Day" which encourages everyone to see how it feels to go a day without socks and donate new socks to the homeless.
The movement is expected to gain a lot of attention since going without socks in December can be pretty chilly.
Brad Smith with Home Smart Realty Group said the idea came to him and his employees just a few weeks ago.
"It's amazing how this happened three weeks ago and some of us were sitting around talking about the season and how we could help out and we got to talking about the homeless and no socks and pretty soon this idea was hatched of "No Socks To Work Day," said Smith. "It's going national and my company is thrilled to be a founding sponsor."
Donations are being accepted starting Dec. 12 and will continue through Jan. 1, 2013.
