New Colorado Flood Recovery Chief Named
DENVER (AP) - Gov. John Hickenlooper has named a new recovery chief to continue Colorado's rebuilding efforts after September's historic floods.
Molly Urbina will take on the role of state recovery chief beginning next month, when current chief Jerre Stead leaves his position. Stead is the executive chairman of Englewood-based IHS Inc. and had been working for the state pro bono. Hickenlooper called Stead "a remarkable gift to Colorado."
Stead was named recovery chief on Sept. 19.
Urbina is the deputy manager at Denver's Community Planning and Development Department. Her job will be to oversee Colorado's recovery efforts by coordinating with state and federal agencies. The governor's office says Urbina will also advocate for federal funding and be the contact for flood-related inquires.
