Investigators: Electric Heater Caused Fire Which Damaged 4 Mobile Homes

GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4)- Fire investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a fire that damaged or destroyed at least four mobile homes in Greeley. The fire broke out at the River Park Mobile Court on 11th Avenue on Monday evening.

Investigators deemed the fire accidental and say the fire started in a shed between two mobile homes. They believe an electric heater being used to heat the shed is the source.

Investigators say a blown gas line complicated the fire fight. As a safety precaution, the energy company shut off gas service to about 40 homes in the area.

Two mobile homes and two sheds were destroyed. Two other mobile homes were also damaged and deemed uninhabitable. Four families in those homes were inside at the time of the fire, but no one was hurt.

Those families will not be allowed back home.
