Man Charged In New Year's Day Shooting
DENVER (CBS4)- A man has been formally charged in a deadly shooting on New Year's Day.
Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has charged Robert Rubio with murder and assault in connection with a shooting that occurred about 9:30 p.m. on New Year's Day.
Rubio, 26, is accused of shooting and killing Troy Martinez and wounding a 22-year-old man while they were visiting a friend at home in the 1000 block of S. Alcott Street.
Martinez, 21, died at the hospital a short time later.
The other man suffered non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
Rubio remains in custody in the Denver Detention Center. His next court appearance has not been scheduled.
