Man Accused Of Shooting Dog Twice In Head, Slashing Its Throat
OLATHE, Colo. (CBS4) - Deputies in Montrose County in southwestern Colorado have arrested a man accused of shooting a dog twice in the head.
The shooting happened on the Fourth of July in the town of Olathe. Deputies arrested Howard Kelly, 54, on animal cruelty charges.
Deputies say Kelly shot the dog named Flex and slashed its throat.
Kelly told investigators the animal snapped at his niece when she sat on the dog.
The dog survived and is recovering at home with his owners.
