Man Accused In Random Stabbing At Popular Restaurant Formally Charged

DENVER (CBS4) - A man accused of attacking a patron in a popular Denver restaurant last week has been formally charged.

According to Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney's office, Anthony Ealy, 46, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and crime of violence.

Police say Ealy allegedly walked into Mead Street Station, a popular bar and restaurant in the Highlands neighborhood, and stabbed a customer.

"The charges allege that on Sept. 6 Ealy attacked a man … coming up from behind him and cutting his throat with a knife. Ealy was identified as a suspect and was arrested the next day without incident," Kimbrough said in a statement.

Police believe it was a random attack.

Ealy remains in custody on a $150,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in court for his second advisement on Wednesday.
