Loveland Ski Area Opens For The Season
GEORGETOWN, Colo. (AP) - A second Colorado ski resort is kicking off its season.
Loveland Ski Area opened for the season Tuesday. Arapahoe Basin was the first Colorado resort to start the season when it opened Oct. 17.
Loveland's opening included a celebration for the ski area's 75th year in business.
"That is hard to believe. I don't think they had all the lifts back then but I bet they did some walk up skiing," skier Darrell Tisdall said.
"We are very proud that we're the second oldest ski area in the state of Colorado. We've got a lot of history here and we look forward to sharing a lot of that history with our customers throughout the season," John Sellers with Loveland Ski Area said.

Loveland has a few special events planned this year.
"We've got a big birthday celebration planned the weekend of Jan. 12; some promotions planned throughout the year; Tommyknocker Brewery is making a special brew just to commemorate our 75th year; Icelandic Skis made a commemorative ski," Sellers said.
Workers just hope this year's celebration isn't spoiled by another lackluster snow year.
