Snow And Arctic Air Coming Back To Denver
By Ed Greene
DENVER (CBS4) - A mixture of clouds and sunshine on a relatively nice day as high temperatures stayed above normal on this Tuesday. The official high at the airport reached 48 - and that is six degrees above normal for this time of year. For Wednesday, a surge of cooler air will bring the high temperatures down into the upper 20s under mostly cloudy skies. There will be snow for the high country and a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for portions of the northern and central mountains from 6am Wednesday through 9am Thursday, for, generally, 6 to 8 inches. Hang in there, as the high rebounds immediately and robustly - pushing into the mid 50s in Denver for Thursday! More clouds on Friday, but still pleasant with a high in the upper 40s.
Then Friday night into Saturday snow develops as frigid air knifes into the state - look for a high Saturday only in the single digits - around 6 degrees. Folks out in northeastern Colorado may struggle to get to zero! Sunday, sunshine returns, but the high stays chilly - likely not out of the teens.
