Snow Continues for the Mountains as Plains Temps Warm Up

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - A moisture flow from the Pacific continues to pump snow into the high country. The Warnings and Advisories for Winter Weather continue until Wednesday at 6pm, however for slightly lesser amounts than posted yesterday. The eastern half of the state is still under the same westerly winds that have warmed temperatures well above normal for this time of year. Tuesday, Denver reached 62 degrees, officially at the airport, and 64 degrees downtown. We might see a few scattered rain showers overnight as the low will stay well above the freezing mark - in the upper 30s.

Partly cloudy and windy conditions are in store for Wednesday - could see gusts to 40mph - with a slightly cooler high in the upper 50s. Partly cloudy and mild weather returns Thursday with a high in the upper 60s. Friday continues this trend with a high in the lower 70s - possibly a record high - as the record now stands at 71 degrees set back in 1951.

Enjoy those mild days as we turn colder for the weekend: mostly cloudy Saturday with scattered rain showers, a high in the mid 50s; colder still Sunday with a slight chance for a few snow showers, high in the low 40s.
