90s Return This Weekend
DENVER (CBS4) - After rain and "cooler" than usual temperatures for many areas on Friday, overall drier and warmer weather will return for the weekend. That being said, there is a still chance for thunderstorms in the mountains this weekend and a few could reach the Denver area late in the afternoon or early evening either Saturday or Sunday.
Thunderstorms that originated near Steamboat Springs Friday afternoon eventually reached the metro areas between about 8 and 9:30 p.m. Friday causing significant wind mainly on the west side of the metro area. Gusts exceeded 60 mph in some areas and a severe thunderstorm warning was briefly issued for the entire Denver and Boulder area. No significant damage was reported but some neighborhoods on the NW side of Denver and into Wheat Ridge were without power Friday evening.

Friday's official high temperature in Denver was only 84° meaning Saturday will be notably warmer with highs in the lower 90s. Sunday will be near normal for the first weekend in August with highs near 90°.
On Monday we'll see a weather disturbance move across Colorado in similar fashion to what occurred Friday. Therefore plan on a better chance for afternoon thunderstorms with temperatures dropping back into the 80s again. Overall dry weather should then prevail for most of next week starting on Tuesday.
