Cooling It Down For Week Ahead
DENVER (CBS4) - Another warm day goes down in the record books for Denver and most of Colorado. Denver's high made it to 88°! That was just two degrees away from the record of 90° set in 1905.
On the weather map we are watching cooler air poised to the north and northwest of the central Rockies. These air masses should begin to break free on Monday allowing for much cooler air to work its way into the state before the middle of the week ahead. The cooler temps will arrive in two waves the first should knock temperatures over eastern Colorado down by nearly 10 degrees from where Sunday's highs were.
It'll also be windy at times and that is not good news for our fire danger. Especially in northwestern areas of the state through Monday.
A second surge of cooler air will arrive Monday knocking our temperatures below normal for a few days.
