Lakewood Police Find Missing Sexually Violent Predator
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - The Lakewood Police Department asked for the public's assistance in locating a man classified as a sexually violent predator (SVP) on Tuesday. He was later located and taken into custody.
Gregory Alan Buerge, 51, was found at West Colfax Avenue and Depew Street.
Police said due to his due to his SVP status, Gregory Alan Buerge, 51, is required by law to register quarterly with the police department.
"Buerge was most recently released from the Department of Corrections in March of this year. It appears as though Buerge had lived at more than one address since then and had complied with the registration requirement," police said in a statement.
On Aug. 20 Buerge said that he would be living at an apartment in Lakewood located at 5637 West Colfax Avenue.
"On Nov. 1 a random check of Buerge's address found that he had left without notifying authorities," police said. "He has not been seen or accounted for since and it is believed that Buerge was at the West Colfax address until late October."
