Rural Broadband Bill Heading To Gov. Hickenlooper's Desk
DENVER (CBS4)- A bill that finances high-speed broadband in rural Colorado is headed to Gov. John Hickenlooper's desk.
The bill takes money from a fund to subsidize rural telephone service to subsidize broadband investments over a five-year period.
Advocates say the Eastern Plains, Western Slope, and many mountain towns have missed out on Colorado's economic boom because of sluggish or non-existent service.
