Brothers Who Died After Being Locked In SUV Finally Laid To Rest
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (CBS4)- The two young brothers who died after overheating in a locked SUV last year have finally been laid to rest months later.
William, 2, and Tyler, 4, were buried in Palisade on Thursday. Their funerals were delayed during the investigation into their deaths.
The boys were found unconscious after their mother left them inside an SUV near the Powderhorn Ski Area in Nov. 2012.
Their mother, Heather Jensen, was charged in their deaths on Monday. Police said she abandoned them to have sex with a man in another vehicle.
Jensen has been charged with negligent homicide, false reporting and child abuse resulting in death.
The boys' grandparents want severe punishment.
"I'd love to see her do some time in prison, some time to get off drugs, straighten her life out," said the boys' grandfather Robert Mathena.
Jensen is scheduled to be back in court Feb. 14.
