WELD COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Two vehicles crashed into each other on Highway 85 early Sunday morning. It happened near County Road 32.

Colorado State Patrol, Mead Police and Platteville police responded. Authorities say a Dodge Ram was driving southbound when it crossed the median and hit a Ford Focus heading north.

Two males inside the truck were thrown and died at the scene. A female inside the sedan was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say neither of the males were wearing seat belts. It is not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role, and police say it does not appear road rage was a factor.

The highway has since reopened.
