Herd Of Pronghorn Cause Traffic Jam

WALDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - Highway 14 was closed for a short time near Walden Thursday during a traffic jam involving wildlife.

A herd of pronghorn got too close to the road.

All the snow in Colorado's high country has forced wildlife closer to the highway because they are having a hard time reaching food, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

Workers from the state department were able to move the animals off the road and reopened the highway at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Many people refer incorrectly to pronghorn as antelope. They are common in rural areas in Colorado.
