Grand Jury Clears Parents In Shooting Death Of 3-Year-Old Son
OAK CREEK, Colo. (CBS4) - A grand jury has cleared a mother and father in the death of their 3-year-old son.
Gavin Stiles, the son of a Steamboat Springs police officer, somehow got hold of his father's gun and shot himself.
The tragedy happened in July at the family's home in Oak Creek, not far from Steamboat Springs.
The father was placed on unpaid leave during the investigation.
The grand jury said it was not appropriate to charge the parents based on criminal negligence.
