Flooding Causing More Problems At Chatfield Reservoir
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Too much water is continuing to cause concerns at Chatfield Reservoir.
Visitors can only get into the park from the North Roxborough Park Road entrance, also called the Plum Creek Entrance, and boats aren't being allowed to launch from trailers.
"Hand launched vessels will still be allowed, such as canoes kayaks and small fishing boats," Jennifer Churchill with Colorado Parks and Wildlife said in a statement.

The park and campground remain open but the swim beach and several picnic areas are closed.
"The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers is in charge of water releases from the reservoir and will be monitoring downstream conditions to determine how much water can be released safely. Due to forecasted weather and spring run-off conditions can change and additional areas affected," Churchill said.

Facilities affected and closed at this time are:
- All Boat Ramps
- South End of Main Park Road
- Marina Parking Lot
- Gravel Ponds Parking Area
- Swim Beach and adjacent parking areas
- Jamison Picnic Area
- Catfish Picnic Area
- King Fisher
- Eagle Cove
- Plum Creek Picnic area (including Roxborough Cove)
Restroom facilities and parking lots in these areas are closed. Parking space and picnic locations are limited at this time due to the high water. Parking is not allowed along the main park road. All vehicles must be parked in a designated parking area and those are limited at this time.
