Flaggers Monitor A Line Crossings After Issue With Gates
DENVER (CBS4)- The Regional Transportation District expects to have flaggers at all the crossings along the new A Line commuter rail. The flaggers will stay on site for the next two months.
The State of Colorado ordered the flaggers because of a problem with the gates at the 10 crossings along the A Line route from Union Station to Denver International Airport.
The gates were not operating properly, either dropping when a train was not arriving or not fully dropping before a train arrives.
RTD said the problem has been fixed but it will take a month of testing and then another month before the state approves the removal of flaggers.
The contractor for the gate system, not the taxpayers, are paying for the flaggers. The A Line opened on April 22.
The flaggers will monitor the crossings constantly.
